Fashion Flair with Patch Attach

Have some pieces in your closet that you want to spruce up a bit?  Well, we have an idea that may help!  We partnered with our friends, Craft Box Girls and Oliso to bring you this fun and easy tutorial on how to add patches to some of your fashion pieces.  So, are you ready to give that denim jacket of yours a reboot?  Let’s dive right in.

Supplies:

Beacon Adhesives Patch Attach
Oliso Mini Project Iron
Patches
Denim Jacket
Denim Shorts
Tote Bag
Sharp tool (anything that will work to score off an iron-on backing)
Press Cloth

Instructions:

Step 1: Lay out your fashion pieces and patches.  While your iron is heating up, decide which patches you want to put on which garment and where you would like them placed.

Step 2: If your patch has an iron-on backing, score it off with a sharp tool.  Be careful to not cut through the patch!  If it doesn’t have an iron-on backing, skip ahead to step 3.

Step 3:  Add your Patch Attach to the back of the patch.

Step 4: Let the glue dry for 10 minutes.

Step 5: Position your patch onto your garment and then cover it with a press cloth to avoid scorching.

Step 6: Press with dry iron on cotton setting (no steam) for 60 seconds.

Step 7: If possible, iron on reverse side for an additional 30 seconds.

Note: During ironing, let the hot soleplate rest safely on the resting side of the solemate.

And there you have it!  It’s that simple.  And is it just us, or does this trend bring us back to the 90’s?  It’s kind of cool that there’s a certain element of nostalgia with this DIY, and don’t let this limit you as to what you can add patches on.  What are some pieces that you would add patches to?  Let us know!
