DIY Sequin Floppy Beach Hat

Giant floppy hats are a perfect accessory for both Spring and Summer.  They get the job done with blocking the sun from your face but they also make for the ultimate fashion statement.  Instead of going out and buying one (that’s probably a bit costly), you can make your own in just a few simple steps with Beacon Fabri-Tac!  There are so many cute sayings that you can add to your hat such as, “Shell Yeah,” “To The Beach,” and “Sea You Later.”  We went with, “Vacay Vibes,” because let’s be honest, we’re always up for a vacation no matter what time of the year it is.  Follow along the tutorial below to learn how to make your own.  We think you’ll be blown away with how simple this tutorial is… you’ll find yourself making a bunch for your girlfriends!

Supplies:

Beacon’s Fabri-Tac
Sequin trim
Straw hat
Pencil

Instructions:

Step 1: Gather your materials.

Step 2: Write out your favorite saying on the beach hat in pencil (we chose “Vacay Vibes”).

Step 3: Glue over the letters with Beacon Fabri-Tac.

Step 4: Adhere the sequin trim to spell out your saying!

Step 5: We recommend waiting

Note: Fabri-Tac is no longer toxic after you wait 24 hours for it to completely dry.  It is a permanent adhesive that dries clear and won’t soak into fabrics.
