Benefits
Magna-Cryl 2793 is a general purpose pressure sensitive adhesive that has been designed for use on flatbed or rotary screen printing machines. This two part system is a UV-curable pressure sensitive adhesive. It is effective in standard applications and is suitable for various substrates including soft vinyl, polycarbonate, polyester, paper cardstocks, most decal materials and release liners. It is compatible with both UV-curable and conventional inks. It flows out smoothly and easily on most surfaces and exhibits equivalent or better performance than conventional acrylic pressure sensitive adhesives. Liquid Properties
Cured Properties (1.4 mil coating cured with 300 watts UV lamp, belt speed of 55 fpm)
Temperature Cycling Cycle: -40O C to 71O C at 2.1O C per in 1 hour soak at –40O C and 71O C —————— Will not fail after 50 cycles. Humidity CyclingCycle: 95 Humidity/35O C for 72 hours. 40 Humidity at 20O C for 72 hours ————- Will not fail after 2 cycles. Interpreting CureAfter surface is thoroughly cleaned, apply a film of adhesive. Film thickness depends upon the users needs, but should not exceed 4 mils. After exiting the curing unit, the adhesive should appear clearer (less amber and haze). Apply the substrate (with the cured adhesive already applied) to a solid surface and pull the substrate back onto itself. If the adhesive appears smudgy or sticky, the adhesive is under-cured. If, on the other hand, the adhesive has short stumps of adhesive that appear rubbery, the adhesive is correctly cured. Coverage 1500 Square feet per gallon. Coverage is dependent upon printing conditions and the material being printing. Note: Coverage and cure are affected by press variable. For further details, contact Beacon Technical Service Department. Caution: Adhesive stability is shortened with the addition of Magna-Cryl 5010 part “B”. Shelf life is 2 to 4 weeks after addition of part ”B”.Flat or Rotary Screen Set-Up MESH—Typical mesh count ranges are from 80 to 200 with 110 to 125 mesh being the most frequently used. SCREEN CLEANING—Most conventional solvent screen cleaners work well. SHELF LIFE—In a closed container, Magna-Cryl 5010 adhesive shelf life is 6 months or more if stored properly. Store containers in a cool, dark place for maximum shelf stability. Note that shelf life changes when part “B” is added (see above section on part “B”). WEATHER ABILITY—Weather resistance is subject to condition of use. Consult the Beacon Technical Service Department prior to use for information regarding weather resistance of the Magna-Cryl 5010. adhesive. HANDLING—Magna-Cryl 5010 contains no volatile solvents. It is a blend of acrylates and modifier and proper care should be taken in order to prevent contact with skin, eyes, and clothing. Refer to OSHA Form #20 for further recommendations. |
