Haunted House Box
Level: ChallengingHaunted House Box

Materials
3-IN-1 ADVANCED CRAFT GLUE

Papier mâché house-shaped box available in craft stores & on line
Paper Clay or any air dried clay
Halloween stickers such as cats, witches, bats, etc.
Small ghost cookie or clay cutter
Black & green dimensional paint
Gray, red, yellow, tan & white acrylic paint
Water based acrylic antiguing gel
• Ruler, 1⁄2” wide, flat craft brush, black permanent marker, Lucite roller, protective surface for cutting clay

Instructions:
1. Paint house roof gray. Mix a little white paint into the gray to make a lighter gray for painting the sides of the house. Let everything dry. Fill in with lighter gray as seen on dormer. Paint the chimney red.
2. Draw shingles on the roof, bricks on the chimney, & boards on the house with the black marker. Apply antiguing gel to entire house, wiping off excess with a soft, dry cloth, leaving some darker spots. Let dry.
3. Roll out paper clay to 1/8” thickness with Lucite roller. Measure eight 1 ½” squares for windows and cut out with craft knife, four for windows and four for shutters. Mark shutter boards with knife as seen in photo. Let dry.
4. Cut one 1 ¼” circle out of clay and cut in half to form a small crescent window for the roof. Cut 1 ½” by 1” clay section for the door, making lines down the center to simulate wood grain. Cut the top and bottom of the door at a slight angle. Let dry.
5. Use small ghost cutter to make several ghosts from the clay as in the photo.
6. Paint the 4 windows and crescent window yellow. Paint the door and shutters tan. After drying, apply the gel stain to the shutters as you did with the house.
7. Apply a small amount of glue to the ghosts and press into windows. Cut one ghost in half and glue to the crescent window. Use black dimensional paint to add window panes to all the windows. Add dots of black to ghosts for eyes and mouths.
8. Use black marker to paint the opening for the door and then glue door onto house along with windows and shutters. Glue ghosts randomly on chimney, roof, etc.
9. Paint grass or weeds with the green dimensional paint around the base of the house.
10. Glue stickers onto house as seen in the photo.
