“Where should I go?” -Alice. “That depends on where you want to end up.” – The Cheshire Cat.” ― Lewis Carroll, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland & Through the Looking-Glass….

Summer is officially here. So now I ask where are you going this summer? The seashore, the lake, cross country? No matter where you choose to go an adventure is waiting for you, your family and friends. Maybe you will stumble upon the secret path to Wonderland and take over where Alice left off.

Today our adventure starts with Miss Marlo who just so happened to stumble upon a rabbit. Here she is asking him the way to Wonderland. The rabbit replied; “You must be related to Alice, as you are wearing her crown”……

To make your own crown like Marlo’s all you need are some supplies from Beacon Adhesives and a few other fun products to begin. So lets get started and make a crown or two.

Beacon Adhesives

Step One

Follow the instructions on the makers mix tub. Once mixed fill in molds and let dry. Then they will be ready to use. (Note the consistency of the makers mix batter should be like a cake batter/brownie batter consistency).

Step Two

Once the concrete gem stones are dried, pop out of the mold and paint with a variety of acrylic craft paints. We used Deco Art acrylic craft paints. Let Dry.

Step Three

Draw a basic crown shape. For a perfect paper crown, draw connecting triangle shapes at the end of a piece of card stock. Place a second piece of card stock behind the drawn one and cut out. Use this image below as a guide.

Glue the two cut pieces of card stock together using mixed media glue. (Its fast grabbing and durable). Let Dry.

Step Four

Once crown is assembled begin gluing the painted concrete gem stones to it using power tac. Glue the stones randomly around the crown.

Now your crown is ready to wear. Make a ton for that special birthday party or just for fun. These crowns are fast, easy and lightweight. Try coating the gem stones with gold foil or gold paint. You could even coat the crown base with clear glitter. If the crown is too small attach 2 tint hair combs to it or some pretty ribbon.
