Brand New E645 Solvent Free Epoxy Powder

By admin

Posted in

Beacon Adhesives has formulated a brand new solvent free version of E645. Magna-Tac E645 EP is a One-Part Heat Cure Epoxy Powder Adhesive

Based on the original E645 formula, Beacon has created a powdered version of the solvent based adhesive. The powdered adhesive does not require a solvent and therefore is environmentally friendly and VOC compliant. Magna-Tac E645 EP can be applied electrostatically and is then cured under heat to allow it to flow and form a skin.

Commonly Used For:

  • Manufacturing motor components, including stators, rotors, gyros, servomechansims, synchros, transformers, magnetic amplifiers
  • Insulating varnish for parts, including impregnated coils and small electrical equipment
  • Assembly of magnetic accelerator units, including cyclotrons, cosmotrons

Materials It Bonds:

  • Metal – to – Metal

The classicBeacon E645 adhesive used for bonding stator and rotor laminated cores has been the only aerospace approved method to create bonded cores with eddy current insulating properties and high temperature capabilities. It was originally formulated as a solvent based product (still available) which is not so earth friendly these days without special handling equipment. Beacon has addressed this issue by offering their new water based formulation. I predict that this new water base formulation of this tried and true adhesive will revolutionize the manufacturing process for bonded cores around the wold. This adhesive can be effectively applied and dry-cured on any electrical steel lamination stock used to stamp or laser cut laminations. In addition this water based E645 can be easily applied to the finished and annealed laminations with an easy hand applicator or using a semi-automated coater/dryer. We have developed this semi-automated process at our shop in Crestwood KY for our own use and for our customers. JRH
