Let the fun begin with these super cool Bottle Cap Embellishments by Beacon Maker Erin Reed of Scraps of Reflection. We love that she used recycled bottle caps, beads, found objects and Beacon Adhesives Mixed Media Glue to create these. Let’s scroll down to see how Erin made these….
Hi all Erin here,
I have a ton of beads, glitters, gems, brads, eyelets and more that i have saved over the years and I got an idea for making a fun little embellishment using all these fun little items by placing them into a upside down bottle cap.
- Beads – Prima, Recollections, American Crafts
- Eyelets & Brads – Eyelet Outlet
- Other found items
- Glue – Beacon
- Bottle Caps
I knew how I was going to make these little bottle cap embellishments, but I was not sure which Beacon glue was going to work the best, so I set out first to do a experiment of which glue would fit for the job between Fabri Tac, Gem Tac, Mixed Media, 3 in 1, and Power Tac.
Here is my video of how I compared ad tested the 5 beacon glues listed above to see what would work best for this project.
Now that I knew which is my glue for the project, spoiler the Mixed Media glue, I set out to make some fun embellishments with beads, gems, seed beads, glitter glass, brads, and lots of other little bits and bobs. I decided to do monotone color for each embellishment to for nice clean look. They turned out amazing!!
Here is my video tutorial on how I to make these fun little up-cycled embellishments.
Here are some up close pictures of each one. These can by use for embellishments on cards, scrapbook pages, mixed media book, canvas art, or turned into magnets, jewelry, and so much more!!
Hope you enjoyed this super cool project by Erin. We can’t wait to start making a ton of these. Oh the possibilities. These are perfect for altered art projects, scrapbooking, jewelry, drawer bulls, magnets and more. You could even cover a frame with these.
